Siegebreakers

Siegebreakers is a hack-and-slash reverse siege game where the players are a team of elite dwarven mercenaries hired to defend a besieged castle. The game began as a student project with a successful Kickstarter campaign and since has come a long way. The game is currently about to enter a limited beta where backers and pre-order buyers will be able to play the game with it's most recent updates since the Kickstarter alpha release.

The game utilizes an innovative dynamic camera that follows any number of players by allotting them a percentage of screen space based on movement, surrounding enemies, and player status.

My work on the project was primarily based on the needs at the time. Being many of team members' first full-scale project, there was confusion at times about who was assigned what task or when a task became relevant but we performed strongly given some of our internal setbacks. Much of my work was production because of the sheer size of the team we had formed. I mainly dealt with the composers and SFX artist but I was often giving minor help to other areas within the team. It was my technical duty to implement all music and sound including making any necessary tweaks or unscheduled assets. I also played a key role in the design of the game.

This was the capstone project for game design students at UC Santa Cruz. Teams culminate all of their experience into a final, year-long project. The target platforms are Windows, Mac, Linux, and Xbox 360. My learning from this project included: shipping my first commercial title, marketing, media presence, crowdfunding, advanced programming concepts, and much more that dealt with "finishing" a game.
